A new private cloud, based on open source software (Open Nebula), is available on the platform. All GenOuest users can take advantage of this, for free. This include compute nodes (EC2) and storage (S3).

Its goal is to help scientists to experiment the cloud, make some tests, … We do not compete against Amazon, Rackspace… Our solution is not for production or really large scale experiments. We provide an environment for free to discover the cloud, to validate some deployments on “fresh” servers, test multi server communication etc….

And, of course, you benefit from the GenOuest team support for internal deployments but also for other clouds.

We provide images preconfigured for Hadoop, or to deploy a grid in a matter of minutes.

Once you are ready, that your tests are over, you can go to a public cloud if needed (prepare your credit card….), for production use or larger experiments.
